The Victim & The Deadwood Union and JANUAR perform at a 'Sent from MARS' concert this fall. The Victim blends Americana with cinematic sound, while JANUAR explores raw themes with a modern twist. Great for adults who enjoy thoughtful, atmospheric music. No booking or cost details yet, but indoor venue. Note: This event is likely in Danish only.
RADIO MARS has unfortunately had to close down, but fortunately managed to put together two more great 'Sent from MARS' evenings this fall. The first of these features two exciting names.
THE VICTIM is a prominent name on the Danish Americana scene. After more than ten years as a solo artist, The Victim, personified by Kenneth Nefling, is now supported by The Deadwood Union, where the songs are lifted by a warm, dynamic, and cinematic sound.
The Victim is currently active with their new full-length album Homebound, which Gaffa awarded with 4 stars and wrote among other things: 'The Victim skillfully weaves threads between Bob Dylan's straightforward storytelling, The Killers' melancholic pull, Ryan Adams' sensitivity, and Father John Misty's warm, light floating expression.'
With the first single This Town selected as the weekly hit tip on DR P4 and music that revolves around longing, hope, and human fragility - delivered with presence, nerve, and authenticity - the audience can look forward to an international performance when The Victim & The Deadwood Union take the stage to give the audience an intense and atmospheric experience where the intimate meets the grand.
JANUAR is a duo consisting of lead singer and songwriter Peter Duus Hansen and multi-instrumentalist Mads Francke Anker. They draw musical inspiration from names like Tom Waits and Bob Dylan, and on the local scene from Allan Olsen, Peter Sommer, and C.V. Jørgensen, but the duo writes, composes, and expresses themselves in a contemporary way.
Taboo feelings such as loneliness and addiction are often themes in their songs, and it is a motivating factor to act as a counterpoint to the 'glamour image' culture. The duo tries to describe reality by reflecting themselves and their surroundings both positively and negatively. A motto for JANUAR could come from Pete Townshend: 'You got to face the face,' present those sides of yourself to the audience that you like the least.
Suitable for: adults
