Strawberry Blonde

RADIO MARS has unfortunately closed, but fortunately managed to put together two more wonderful 'Sent from MARS' evenings this autumn. This final farewell salute from outer space features the twin sisters Betina and Anja Fölleslev, who are back with new strong songs in their joint musical project Strawberry Blonde. Experience their Nordic country-folk universe, with room for both vulnerability and strength in the soundscapes and lyrics. The songs are like life, full of dilemmas that help shape us over time, from fleeting moments to long sweeping brushstrokes. It is present-day country-folk about passionate love, unrequited love, powerful natural forces, and having to turn your back on close relationships. Live, the songs are followed by present-day storytelling with both seriousness and a glint in the eye.

From Nashville, over Samsø to Fyn - Keep Talking. The songs were written and produced by Søren Jacobsen and the American Andy Davis. A collaboration that has continued since their first meeting in 2017, with a camp in March 2020 where the songs for the EP 'Nothing Comes From Nothing' took shape, and most recently with an intensive writing week on Fyn in January 2026, where the latest single 'Keep Talking' (B-rotation P5) was written and produced by the four-leaf clover.

'Nothing Comes from Nothing' is the title of the latest EP, where one can sense in many ways that the twin sisters are right in the middle of life. It was a long-awaited release for the twin sisters. There were a number of events that meant their joint musical project had to sprout under the mulch. The first notes of several of the songs were written on Samsø the same week that Denmark was first locked down due to COVID-19. In the time that followed, when everything was cancelled, the collaboration with producers Søren Jacobsen and Andy Davis (US) continued online from Denmark across the Atlantic, and in the time that followed, the sisters also had to say goodbye to two close family members after long-term illness courses, with all the emotional and practical consequences that come with it.

About Strawberry Blonde: The debut album 'Glorious' was Album of the Week on P4 in 2009. In 2012, the album 'All I Had of Glass I Have Broken' was released. In 2019 and 2020, the singles 'Mount Everest' and 'Silver & Gold' were released. In 2025, the EP 'Nothing Comes From Nothing' was released with a release concert at Nashville Nights Odense, as well as the ongoing singles 'Waterfall' and 'Charming Devil', which achieved C- and A-rotation on DR P5. Strawberry Blonde was among the five mentions on DR.dk about artists to watch in 2025 (with the single 'Charming Devil').
