The Danish singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Simone Tang emerged as a solo artist with the release of her debut album, Things I Remember, on November 1, 2024. The album has a timeless, nostalgic feel, reminiscent of a bygone era, as if emanating from a gramophone – a return to a time when just a voice and a guitar could captivate an audience.
Drawing inspiration from iconic artists such as Elizabeth Cotten, Nick Drake, Paul Simon, and Édith Piaf, and having completed an impressive tour of over 50 concerts in 2025, both in Denmark and internationally (including venues like Tinderbox Festival, Hotel Cecil, Nær Festival, Århus Musikhus, Folk Alliance International, SXSW in the US, and Trondheim Calling in Norway), Simone Tang has established herself as a compelling new voice in the singer-songwriter scene.
She is soon to release a follow-up to her debut album, continuing in the same vein. The new album remains intimate, primarily featuring guitar and vocals, stripped down and recorded live. In addition to introducing a few new instruments to the soundscape, such as piano and clarinet, the songs' content remains personal and relevant, inspired by artists like Molly Drake, Labi Siffre, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, and Bob Dylan.
Singles will be released in the autumn of 2026, leading up to the album.
