The Tour de France is the world's biggest annual sporting event, enchanting generations of spectators and TV viewers around the globe. Not least in Denmark, we love to dive into the Tour every July.
With Rolf Sørensen & Dennis Ritter, you'll go behind the curtain and into the commentator's booth and hear the stories from a close and trusting collaboration between the two, who together have covered the Tour de France for TV 2 for 20 years. You'll hear, for example, the story of why exactly the Danes have taken the Tour so close to their hearts. A love affair that culminated in three stages on Danish soil in 2022.
In a presentation full of humor and self-irony, Rolf & Ritter openly share the stories about their collaboration and the highs and lows they've experienced, the mistakes they've made, and the victories they've celebrated. And they'll also analyze the current edition of the Tour, the magical duels between Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar, and the Danish possibilities in the coming years.
About Rolf Sørensen (b.1965) Rolf Sørensen has for decades carried the title of Denmark's most successful professional cyclist. He has won races such as Ronde van Vlaanderen and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, as well as winning Olympic silver in 1996 in Atlanta and has won stages in both the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia. After his career, he has among other things lived from commenting and communicating cycling sports for TV 2. In 2019 he was awarded DR's big communication prize, the Rosenkjærprisen, and in the reasoning it was said among other things:
"Rolf Sørensen, as an expert, has elevated cycling from entertainment to something universally human, from which everyone can learn. With colossal knowledge and many years of experience, he has not only made the sport accessible and understandable to many. He has also used the platform to advocate the view that it takes something to achieve your goals, but also that you are allowed to stand by the fact that you are good at something".
