Rolf & Ritter take you behind the scenes into the commentary box of the world's biggest cycling race. Listen to all the experiences, the collaboration, the crises, and the triumphs. And the attempt to capture a race that never stands still.
Tour de France is the world's biggest annual sporting event, which has enchanted generations of spectators and TV viewers around the globe. Not least in Denmark do we love to dive into the Tour every July.
With Rolf Sørensen & Dennis Ritter, you'll get behind the scenes and right into the commentary box, hearing stories from a close and trusting collaboration between the two, who together have covered the Tour de France for TV 2 for 20 years. You'll hear, for example, the story of why exactly the Danes have taken the Tour so close to their hearts. A love affair that culminated in three stages on Danish soil in 2022.
In a presentation filled with humor and self-irony, Rolf & Ritter openly share the stories of their collaboration and the highs and lows they've experienced, the mistakes they've made, and the victories they've celebrated. And they'll also give sharp insights into the current edition of the Tour, the magical duels between Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar, and analyze the Danish possibilities in the coming years.
About Rolf Sørensen (b.1965) Rolf Sørensen has carried the title of Denmark's most successful professional cyclist for decades. He has won races such as Ronde van Vlaanderen and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and he won Olympic silver in 1996 in Atlanta. He has also won stages in both the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia. As a rider, he participated in 7 Tour de France races, and already in his debut in 1991, he wore the yellow leader's jersey.
After his career, he has among other things lived off commenting and communicating cycling sports for TV 2. In 2019, he was awarded DR's great communication prize, the Rosenkjærprisen, and in the justification, it was stated among other things:
"Rolf Sørensen, as an expert, has elevated cycling from entertainment to something universally human, which everyone can learn from. With colossal knowledge and many years of experience, he has not only made the sport accessible and understandable to many. He has also used the platform to advocate the view that it takes something to achieve your goals, but you are also allowed to stand by the fact that you are good at something."
About Dennis Ritter (b.1972) Dennis Ritter is a trained journalist from 2000 and has been employed at DR Sporten, TV 2 Nyhederne, TV 2 Sporten, and TV 2 News. In 2007, he took over the role as commentator for TV 2's biggest cycling races, including the Tour de France. He has published four books about cycling sports.
In close collaboration with Rolf Sørensen, but also with Jørgen Leth, Chris Anker Sørensen, and others, he has worked for two decades to communicate and spread knowledge about cycling sports.
Dennis Ritter also works as a news anchor at TV 2 News, where he has covered Danish and American politics, as well as royal and cultural topics.
