MEKDES began 2026 with the album THE BOY I AM – a work that marks his most personal musical expression to date.

After two major concerts in the spring and a festival season that lies ahead of us all, it's time for Mekdes to tour the country at the end of the year and the beginning of 2027. The tour will reach all over the country and this time in an acoustic setup. On stage with Mekdes will be Andres Skovbjerg and Phillip Leonhard. Mekdes is an uncompromising independent artist with full artistic control. He releases his music himself, something that also shines through in his work as a musician and songwriter. The album stems from three years of intense personal development and a conscious process of challenging his own self-image and the norms he previously felt limited by.

On the title of the new album, Mekdes says: 'The title of the album means a lot to me because it was the first time I broke through to the realization of my self-image – to myself. It started a series of new reflections for me and has made me incredibly curious about myself. The work on the album and especially the thoughts I've been through, have made me quite free and reminded me that you can be exactly who you want to be, when you want to be it. – I've opened the door to a new side of myself...'

With the album THE BOY I AM, Mekdes continues to build on his musical career and development and once again proves that he has one of the country's most iconic and unique voices – and that he is an extremely talented producer and songwriter.

One of the things Mekdes looks forward to is meeting the audience again. “I'm looking forward to spreading good energy and getting it back. My audience is so kind, and it's something very special to experience their energy in reality.” The live format will be musically and emotionally focused. “We're going on a journey through all the emotions. In 2020, Mekdes was nominated for a DMA for Best New Live Act, and in 2022, Mekdes was once again nominated for a DMA for Best Producer for his debut album.

In 2021, Mekdes was awarded the prestigious P3 Guld Talent Prize.

In 2022, Mekdes released his debut album “Greedy”

In 2023, URO and Mekdes released the single “Føles Godt”, which became a massive nationwide hit.

In 2024, Mekdes participated in the TV show Toppen af Poppen
