This evening we invite you to a shared singing and storytelling event in collaboration with Give Egnens Kor. Jacob Vestager Tybjerg guides us through some of N.F.S. Grundtvig's most central songs and hymns. Along the way, we sing together and gain insight into the texts, thoughts behind them, and their meaning both then and now. For Grundtvig, the songs are not about giving definitive answers, but about opening up to life. They revolve around questions of meaning, dignity, and what it means to be human. As Jacob Vestager conveys it, the songs can help us understand life - not all at once, but in movement. The evening alternates between storytelling, piano playing, and shared singing, where Give Egnens Kor sings and lifts the songs together with the audience. It will be a present experience where community is at the center and where song becomes a place to meet.
About Jacob Vestager TybjergJacob is a high school teacher at Uldum Højskole and works with song and storytelling as an entry into community and understanding of life. He has contributed to Højskolesangbogen with the melody to the song 'Solhverv', which he has written together with his sister, Margrethe Vestager.
