A Circle Of Friends is a love letter to people, country and americana – acoustic, hand-played and full of good stories. A live concert experience with songs you can sing along to, dance to and dream away in.
It all started in 1972 at a spring concert at the music school, where a young Alex Nyborg Madsen realized that the stage was his element. Since then he has been a fixture in Danish music life – from heavy metal to americana – and now the circle closes with his new band: A Circle Of Friends.
Call it americana, roots, alt-folk or alt-country – the sound is predominantly acoustic, hand-played and centered around the good song. The love for folk and country has always been simmering. With acoustic instruments and the love for folk and country in the center, the band plays hand-played music with stories that can be sung, danced and drunk to. The music draws threads to americana, alt-country and roots – but most importantly of all: the good songs are in focus.
The band consists of younger musicians who share Alex' passion for the genre. The sound is carried by acoustic string instruments – and the soul is never far away. Together they create a live experience, where the concert feels like a radio broadcast – just with the music played live and the stories told from the heart.
